Protecting our precious environment

While other political parties talk about what they may do, the Conservatives have been busy both nationally and locally here across East Sussex delivering on their commitment to carbon zero.

  •  Wealden District and East Sussex County have declared Climate Emergencies
  • 60% reduction in carbon since 2008; and an additional 13% reduction each year
  •  Replacement of street lamps withLED to benefit the environment
  • Carbon-neutral as soon as possible,and certainly by 2050.
  • Installing electric chargers in all Wealden-owned car parks

Conservative-led Wealden has the highest recycling rates in East Sussex.

Protecting our precious environment

improving our roads: the arteries of the community

Across East Sussex, Conservative councillors are campaigning for better roads and more investment in our highways. Already they have achieved much, but there is more to do.

  •  Over 300-miles of roads resurfaced
  • Increased areas of reduced speed limits
  • Additional white lining to improve safety
  • Investing in new drainage schemes
  • 130 road safety schemes delivered in the last four years.
