Becoming a councillor is a uniquely rewarding experience. It gives you the opportunity to help your local community and be part of a dedicated team providing key services for your area.

Being a councillor is also a great way to gain political experience and useful skills in public speaking, debating and problem solving.

Serving councillors are a broad mix of people from the local community. New councillors are good news. They mean fresh ideas and fresh enthusiasm, and that will be good for your council and your local area.

It's easy to become involved with Wealden Conservatives -- Join as a Member

Members play an active role in the Party, and receive important voting rights in Party elections. As a Member, you’ll be able to:

- Decide who represents the Party in local, general and European elections
- Vote in elections for the Party Leader and in our local Association’s AGM
- Attend Party Conferences

In addition, you’ll receive:
- Access to our Affinity Programme which provides great discounts on a wide range of products
- A membership card and welcome booklet
- Regular email updates

Becoming a Member costs £25 a year, £15 for current or former member of the Armed Forces, and £5 a year if you’re under 23 years old.
