The Hailsham Conservative Group meet on a monthly basis. The purpose of the group is to raise funds for campaigning and promotion of the Conservative Party in the local area, however, also we represent the majority group of Councillors of Hailsham Town Council and represent all of the Wealden District Council seats for Hailsham.

Amanda O'Rawe is a Hailsham Town Councillor representing Hailsham South Ward. Amanda has lived in Hailsham for over five years, been a Town Councillor for and had the honour of being Deputy Mayor for almost a year.

East Sussex County Councillor for Hailsham New Town, Cllr Gerard Fox has lived in Wealden from childhood, attending local schools before studying Economics and Politics at Bristol. He has worked in both large and small businesses, and today runs a small farm with his wife.

Ben owns a carpet and flooring company serving the southeast. He is a father of two, with another baby due in July. “I am passionate about the area and love where we live”, he says. “I feel it has so much to offer young families and older residents alike. 



THE CONSTRUCTION of a new 420-place school in Hailsham has been named ‘project of the year’ at a national awards ceremony.


The findings of the Hailsham Aspires consultation point the way ahead for a future-looking, modern market town which respects its existing heritage.  Residents and visitors would like to see more green and open spaces in the heart of the town, restaurants, a public space for cultural activities a


An innovative health coaching scheme, which started in 2017 at the Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre, has been further expanded in Hailsham.


Wealden District Council has launched ‘Hailsham Aspires’. This is the name given to the Hailsham Town Centre Regeneration Project following feedback from Hailsham Community College sixth-formers and other partners.


Additional air quality monitoring could take place in Hailsham after the town council backed a proposal from the former Mayor.
