Bus pass rules in East Sussex relaxed to support vaccinations

CONCESSIONARY bus pass holders will soon be able to travel before 9.30am in a bid to support the COVID vaccination programme.

From today (January 18), Conservative-run East Sussex County Council will temporarily relax the rules to help elderly and vulnerable residents travel to early morning COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

Conservative councillor, Claire Dowling, lead member for transport and environment, said: “The Covid vaccination programme is vital in the fight against the global pandemic that has affected so many in our county.

“We recognise the importance of our residents being able to travel easily to appointments to receive their vaccinations and will, with support from bus operators, relax the rules to support this.”

The relaxation of rules is expected to continue until school fully reopen.  More details area available at www.eastsussex.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/public/buses/bus-service-changes-including-back-to-school-changes/ along with other information on bus services.
