Help cool the climate – Compost! That's the message in Wealden which has an excellent record on re-cycling. 

Wealden District Council is encouraging more residents to get composting as part of International Compost Awareness week (5 - 11 May). 

MP AND FARMERS MEET MINISTER

Nusrat Ghani MP secured a meeting for Stephen and Phil Hook of Hook Farm, with Robert Goodwill MP, Minister for Farming at DEFRA. Hook Farm, based in West Hoathly, is the country’s leading provider of raw organic milk, and a significant employer in Wealden.

REGION'S JOB FIGURES WELCOMED

Nusrat Ghani MP welcomed figures released recently demonstrating the strength of Wealden’s economy and job market.

The latest figures show that in the South East there are 4,605,371 people in work – meaning that, under the Conservatives, 413,032 more people have a job than in 2010.

WEALDEN IS LOVING ITS LOCAL MARKETS

Between 20 April and 31 May, Wealden District Council joins the Love Your Local Market campaign, which takes place in May to raise the profile of local markets and encourage people to enjoy locally produced goods.
