UK FINANCIAL UPDATE

This afternoon the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave an update on the country’s finances. With the Conservatives in government the UK's economy will grow more quickly than Germany's.

WEALDEN'S MP ON BREXIT POSITION

In the referendum campaign I voted to leave, as did a majority of Wealden residents. More importantly so did a majority of the country.

WEALDEN'S VOLUNTEERS RECOGNISED

The Chairman of Wealden District Council hosted his annual Civic Reception at Herstmonceux Castle where he also presented the Community Volunteer Awards.

WEALDEN BACKS APPRENTICES

It’s National Apprenticeship Week (4 - 8 March) and Wealden District Council are pleased to announce their new cohort of apprentices for 2019 - the fourth annual scheme to take place in partnership with the East Sussex College Group (formerly Sussex Downs College) since 2014.

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, hosted Year 6 students from Blackboys CofE Primary School and Framfield CofE Primary School in Parliament this week.

WEALDEN COUNCIL CHEQUES OUT

After 31 March 2019 Wealden District Council will no longer accept cheques at the Council Offices for the payment of any bills or services.
