Wealden’s new housing strategy identifies the need to boost the supply of housing including affordable and private rented housing.

Last weekend we heard the sad news that our former district councillor, and stalwart Forest Row Conservative, Peter Holloway, passed away last Friday after a long battle with cancer.  His friends at Forest Row Branch and the wider Wealden Conservative Association have compiled this tribute.

WEALDEN RETIREMENT LIVING LETTINGS RE-OPEN

Wealden District Council are pleased to once again accept applications for letting to their retirement living courts. The Council had to cease lettings on 23 March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

MP WELCOMES GRANTS FOR WEALDEN SPORT

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, is delighted that after raising the issue of lack of investment in local football clubs with the Premier League, seven grants worth £14,500 in total have been awarded to clubs in Wealden through the Pitch Preparation Club.

MP COMMENTS ON CHANGES TO LOCAL POST OFFICE SERVICES

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, has been updated on changes to local Post Office services and learnt that the Post Office services provided by Ridgewood have temporarily closed at all of its Outreach locations due to the impact of Covid-19.

WEALDEN BENEFITS FROM UNPRECEDENTED MEASURES

Wealden has received unprecedented economic support to protect jobs and businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak. 12,100 jobs have been protected through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, with Government grants covering 80 per cent of people’s wages, up to £2,500 a month.
