Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, has been informed by Post Office Limited of the temporary closure of the Forest Row Post Office.
The Coronavirus pandemic is having an impact on businesses nationwide and Post Office Limited have given assurances that they are working to find a solution that will restore Post Office services to the Forest Row community, although it is currently unclear how long the branch will remain closed.
Ms Ghani has contacted Post Office Limited for further clarity on the temporary closure and urges residents to share their concerns on the Post Office limited consultation hub.
Any questions regarding this closure can be directed to the National Consultation Team at email@example.com (please note that your comments will not be kept confidential unless you expressly ask for them to be done so). Please visit the Consultation Hub www.postofficeviews.co.uk for FAQs on Coronavirus and changes to the Post Office network.
Ghani said “COVID19 has had an impact on local businesses and services, but it is important that we share our concerns about local Post Office services with Post Office Limited to ensure that these services are reinstated and available in the future.
"Previously we have had three other Post Office services under threat in Hailsham, Groombridge and Mayfield, and we have successfully fought for them to remain in the area. I hope that we can do the same for Forest Row.
"It is crucial that residents share their concerns with the formal Post Office Limited consultation to ensure that Post Office Limited understand what the service means to Forest Row.”
