Why not champion your neighbourhood?
A visit to Uckfield Civic Centre on Saturday could change the future shape of our town and wider Wealden, and let you champion your neighbourhood.
A drop-in event entitled 'Could I Be a Councillor?' is being held at the Civic Centre between 10am and 12 Noon on 19th February.
Candidates are being sought by Wealden Conservatives for both the town and district council elections to be held next May.
Anyone interested is invited to find out more and meet some current councillors. Pop along and discover what’s involved in representing your local area and how you might contribute to all our futures.
Says current Wealden cabinet member, Cllr Roy Galley: "Becoming a councillor can be really rewarding, improving life for residents and helping to solve a myriad issues.
“Each councillor will have something different to offer; your main qualifications are a genuine concern for the community and a willingness to learn. Knowledge and experience will soon follow.”
