Showing that he's a Man of Many Talents, Horam and Punnetts Town Wealden District and Wealden East county councillor Bob Bowdler entered his home-made jam in the Warbleton and District Horticultural and Poultry’s Annual Show in the Dunn Village Hall, Rushlake Green.
Using produce from his own garden, Bob created prize winning Blackberry and Apple Jam and walked away with the top accolade as the judges awarded him coveted First Prize!
Bob, accompanied by his wife, Trish, and fellow district councillor, Susan Stedman, visited the show where they were suitably refreshed by locally home-baked chocolate cake.
The sustainability-minded councillor worked hard to create a fitting setting for his tasty jam, using recycled jars and home-grown produce.
How eco-friendly can you get!
"It was also rewarding to see First Prize awarded to Andrew Lee of Horam for his amazing red cabbage, grown in the allotments I fought hard to create on the Horam Recreation Ground", added Cllr Susan Stedman.
"There was an extraordinary display of home-grown produce, floral presentations and home-infused gins!", said Cllr Bowdler. "Susan and I will be in competition with each other next summer to see who can make the best use of their apples and blackberries’ declared Bob. ‘
Well done to all who participated and a big shout out to the organisers of the Show.
