Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “It was a pleasure to host Forest Row Energy in Parliament for a meeting with the Energy Minister, Claire Perry MP.
“Sustainable energy is an exciting and constantly developing industry, with new technologies opening up a whole new range of ideas and solutions to push us towards a truly sustainable future.
“Groups like Forest Row Energy do wonderful work in supporting and growing community energy, so I was delighted to hear of the Government’s backing for this industry.
“Environmental issues are some of the most frequent issues I am contacted about, so I will continue to work closely both with my colleagues in Government and with groups like Forest Row Energy to keep sustainable energy at the forefront of Government policy.”
Esmé Donghi-Wild, Director of Forest Row Energy, said: “It was fantastic to meet with Claire and Nusrat last week.
“We appreciated the time they both took to understand the value of the community energy sector in meeting climate change targets, community outreach, fuel poverty work and winning the hearts and minds of the UK public for the government's decarbonisation approach.
“We look forward to hearing the outcome of the discussion point on the adoption of a Community FiT for projects implemented by community groups such as Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies so that we can continue to provide the support services we offer the government and our communities.”
