"It is with great pleasure that I learnt that Dr Gillian Bullock, a resident of Maresfield well known to many people has receive a BEM in the New Year’s Honours list", said district and county councillor Roy Galley who has been a long-term supporter of the charity.
The award is for her work in founding and running the charity CHADIK – Child Health and Development in Kenya.
"She has worked tirelessly for disadvantaged children in Kenya aiming to improve their life chances through education and health", added Cllr Galley. "This honour is well deserved."
Dr Gillian Bullock worked first as a biochemist and later as an experimental pathologist with the Swiss company, Novartis. She then became a visiting Professor in the University Hospital, Ghent, Belgium. Now retired, her major involvement is CHADIK moving forward its projects.
