In yesterday's Budget, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, announced that the duty rates on beer, cider, wine and spirits will be frozen.

Highways England's £75mil Improvements to A27

Nus Ghani, member of the A27 Reference Group, has welcomed Highways England’s announcement of its intention to carry out significant improvement works to the A27 east of Lewes. This work will be carried out with the £75mil previously secured by the A27 Reference Group.

Increased funding for Wealden's schools

The Secretary of State for Education has announced the Government’s decisions on the new national funding formula for schools, which will come into effect from April 2018, with an increase in funding for all schools.

New running track opened in Crowborough

On Saturday, Nus Ghani joined our Local Councillors in attending the opening ceremony of the new all-weather polymetric running track in Crowborough. Paralympian's, Vanessa Daobry and Danny Crates had the honor of cutting the ribbon. 

12 new affordable homes opened in Hailsham

Nus Ghani and Cllr Pam Doodes opened Leap Close, the site of twelve new affordable homes in Hailsham.

All twelve homes have been allocated to local families via the Council’s choice based lettings system and are initially to be let on one year introductory tenancies.
