Cllr Bob Bowdler

County Councillor for Hailsham Market
District Councillor for Horam & Punnetts Town

I was first elected for Heathfield East in May 2015, and also elected to the county council in 2017.

My background is principally military; I was a career soldier and locally-based businessman. I know this area extremely well and it is home to all my close family.  In my spare time I am a musician and with friends in ‘El Banda Burros’ we support and raise funds for the Heathfield-based youth charity ‘Wealden Works’.

This year I have given the campaign for a safer school crossing in Punnetts Town my full support, in the hope that in these times of financial constraints, we can find some way to fund this much-needed facility, which will also serve the Medical Centre, Village Hall and the sports fields.

Along with Susan Stedman,  Bob has been elected district councillor for  Horam and Punnetts Town ward which includes Swife Lane, Broad Oak, Bodle Street Green and Warbleton.
