  • Uckfield Town Centre Regeneration Joint Committee

 

Along with Cllr Claire Dowling, Helen was elected district candiate for New Town Ward (covering West Park, New Town West, Harlands and New Town) in May 2019's district council elections. Helen was also re-elected to Uckfield Town Council in their ward of the same name, New Town - but which has different boundaries.

Helen joined the Conservative party as a Young Conservative in Sheffield in 1974 and has campaigned at every general election since. Helen and her husband, Roy Galley, a former Member of Parliament for Halifax and currently a District and County Councillor, have lived in Wealden for 19 years.  They have two married children and one grandson (soon to be two) who she hopes to get out campaigning soon.

Gary and his wife have lived in Uckfield for 22 years. His two children attended Rocks Park Primary School and Uckfield Community Technology College. Gary is a business owner in the care sector; he employs over 100 people in the local area.
