BRINGING EAST SUSSEX LIBRARIES TO LIFE

East Sussex's libraries are being brought to life for groups of East Sussex schoolchildren with the help of miniature puppets.

The Book Folk have been making an appearance at all 17 of the county’s libraries, inspiring youngsters to use their local library.

MAYFIELD'S NEW POST OFFICE OPENS

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, opened a new Post Office in Mayfield. Accompanied by Cllr. Rupert Simmons, Nus met with Mrs Jo Eates, the new Post-Master in Wealden, alongside staff, and members of the public to cut a ribbon to open the Post Office.

MP AT MAYFIELD SCHOOL

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, visited Mayfield Primary School, accompanied by Councillor Rupert Simmons, and she was taken on a tour by students.

STAIRWAY TO HORAM BRIDGES CUCKOO LINK

Horam residents and visitors can once again access the High Street direct from the Cuckoo Trail following the opening of a new staircase. The old steps were closed to carry out necessary improvement works.

MP IN CROWBOROUGH FOR NATIONAL CARE HOME OPEN DAY

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, joined with Greg Rose, The Mayor of Crowborough, in order to celebrate National Care Home Open Day, at Woodlands Care Home, in Crowborough.

During Nus’ visit, she officially unveiled a new Sea-Side themed corridor in the Care Home.

REHAB IN THE COMMUNITY

An update from the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne OBE who met with local charity Reformed East Sussex (RES) to award them £15,000 from my Community Safety Fund.

COLLABORATION SAVES WEALDEN £1.1 MILLION

Wealden District Council saved £1.1 million of public money by working with a range of different organisations to procure services and assets for the authority.

SUMMER ACTIVITY DAYS

Get active this August is the message in Wealden as a summer of fun begins again this year when the first of five of a series of free Wealden Activity Days gets under way in Polegate on Friday 2 August.

MP ATTENDS CROWBOROUGH ARMED FORCES DAY CELEBRATIONS

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, attended the Armed Forces Day celebrations at Crowborough for a parade down the High Street. 

The event was organised by the Crowborough Branch of the Royal British Legion, with cooperation from the town council.

MP MEETS WITH FLETCHING SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, met with Jenny Barnard-Langston, chair of the Governors of Fletching Church of England Primary School, as well as the wider school community, to discuss the consultation into the potential closure of the School.
