Wealden District Council member for Hailsham West, Chairman of Hailsham Conservatives and Wealden Conservative Association Officer.

Richard Grocock is married to Susan and has lived in Hailsham for over 30 years.  "During this time I ran a successful business on the High Street before deciding I wanted to do more for the community.

I was elected to Hailsham Town Council in 2011 and in that time have served on most of the committees; I was elected as Vice Chairman / Deputy Mayor for a period of two years, and served as Vice Chairman of the Finance committee.

I was Chairman of Hailsham in Bloom for three years and, although it is no longer a part of the council but a charity doing the same work, I am still its chairman.

Richard has been elected councillor for the new Hailsham West ward in May 2019's district and town council elections.

Conservatives on Hailsham Town Council have sent a message to each household in the town explaining how they are are working, on residents' behalf, to improve the efficiency and financial management of the town council.

More than £65 million in support grants was distributed to businesses in Wealden during the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns.

In addition, Wealden District Council officers also prevented more than £1 million in attempted fraud and duplicate payments.
